hi,

I am using 128gb apple ssd and when i was using sl i could wipe free space so i was getting performance but in lion disk utility is not letting me do it. Buttons are not clickable.

what is the problem ?

Do you have filevault turned on?

Maybe apple conciders it pointless with the disc encrypted.

Wipe free space on a SSD has been disabled by Lion for some reason. Why are you wiping to begin with... you mentioned something about better performance? Are you trying to TRIM the drive? If you have the TRIM hack enabled, just boot to single user mode then type in "fsck -ffy" without the quotes. That will TRIM your drive.

my boot up performance is not very good after updating to lion, i like lion it is ok but should have better startup performance, normally when i was in sl i used to wipe free space then it used to turn back to high performance boot up.

I don't see how wiping free space could possibly speed up boot performance.
