Hi there,

Im experiencing a couple problems with disk utility in Sierra was wondering if anyone could shed some light.

Basically I installed a second hard drive into my super drive slot on my mid-2012 15" MacBook pro. I had no problem formatting the hard drive externally using disk utility. As soon as I put the hard drive in the drives would mount but I wasn't able to use the one drive formatted in OS X I keep getting an error code -50. Re-formatting just says it cannot unmount the drive.

Originally, I had formatted half the drive as NTFS so I could put windows on it and the other half I left as Mac OS X extended, journaled. Both drives worked for a bit then I went to change my iTunes folder over and the second (mac drive) stopped working and started giving me this error (maybe it has something to do with it?).. the NTFS drive would still allow me to read and write.. I re-formatted the whole drive externally and now I can't make any partitions or do anything...
