When i formatted my usb key in Disk utility, it made it unusable on Windows Xp machines(wich we use in school) but i can still use it on vista's and mac's

What have i done wrong, and how can i make it right again?

Please help me, cause i really need to be able to access my files in school!

Did you re-format the drive MS-DOS or Mac OS Extended? XP won't read Mac OS Extended, didn't realize Vista could though if that is what you did.

Check what exactly you've formatted it as. On your Mac, click the USB drive on the desktop once File>Get Info and let us know what format it is.

Worst case scenario, format it using Vista.
