Mac Mini Intel Core 2 Duo. Did the DW update to 4.2 and inserted it into my MBP... worked fine. Did the same on my Mac Mini (both have 10.6 OS) and all it would do is give me the start up chime (holding C down of course) over and over and over. When I would finally let up on the C, it would boot into 10.6.
Any ideas? I've repaired permissions on the Mini and tried again... same result. Thanks....

Something to try, for giggles: boot the Mini using the original DW DVD. In this case, we aren't testing the DW app functionality, but rather, seeing if the system software on that DVD can boot the Mini -- then shut down DW and don't try to use the app.

If the original DW DVD can't at least boot the Mini, then that's your problem as the 4.2 updater only updates the DW app but retains the OS from the original DW DVD for the new DVD that it burns, I think.

Neither suggestion worked. Thanks anyway.

Any other ideas? I've also send DW an email.

Could you boot from the original DiskWarrior disk? If not, you need to order a new DW DVD - with the latest version of booting software.

Here's what is says about the updater and starting new macs:

Please note that the new startup disc you create will start up the same set of Mac models as your current DiskWarrior disc (CD/DVD). Your new disc will not start up any Mac that your current DiskWarrior disc can not. If you need a new DiskWarrior disc that can start up the newest Mac models, please contact our Sales Department to order. Please note that you will receive a DVD even if your previous DiskWarrior disc was a CD.
