I have an iMac 5k (Sierra) with two external Dell monitors attached as well as 2 Thunderbay 4 volumes (16TB and 20TB). At least once a day, I keep getting notifications through Softraid that my 20TB has been ejected and there could be issues. About 1 in 5 times, my 16TB follows suit and does the same thing. I picked up Disk Warrior and attempted to rebuild the 20TB. I ended up simply initializing all 4 disks and creating a new volume. Luckily, that wasnt my 16TB (my primary data). I also back up everything to Crashplan.

Has anyone heard of this issue? Softraid is convinced it's a hardware issue and has been working (without much success) with Apple. When Sierra hit, you supposedly could then use the sleep function in Energy Saver preferences. Like most, data is king for me. I own an aerial photography business and have TBs of images and videos along with LR catalogs, etc. It's very important, obviously.

Here is the note from Softraid about the issue. https://www.softraid.com/pages/support/faq/faq_disappearing_disks.html

I am going to disconnect both monitors and see if that has any impact on things.
