I’m beginning to gain some clarity regarding Safe Mode — that it runs fsck, and disables 3rd party apps from starting up.

Till buying this Mac Pro Early 2008, since System 7, I’ve always run DiskWarrior from its CD. Now that I can’t, and must install a minimal system on my second drive in order to use it.

Could or should DiskWarrior be run from Safe Mode? Last time I ran it from a HD, I started with extensions off — way back when.

I’d like to check out the other internal hard drive before creating a SuperDuper clone on it. Alsoft’s site is lacking in specific procedural advice, as is Apple’s, so I come here.

The update to 10.5.2 ran smoothly, but since installing a kagillion apps, including major graphics, but before running this 10.5.4 update, I’m taking this more seriously.

There are no major problems with the machine at the moment except for some irregular problems which seem to be directory related — the CDFinder folder which has failed to be found on three or four occasions, remedied by moving it to another location and then back again.
And a couple days ago, the external HDD wouldn’t accept the transferring of data (solved simply by a restart)

Please advise as to the proper procedure.
