Hi everyone, I noticed an odd issue with my Apple TV 4K watching episode six of Obi-Wan Kenobi on Disney+
The scene starts at 29:26, and it's a very dark night time scene.
On my iPad Air 4, the scene is barely visible unless I'm in a dark room.
On my Apple TV 4K, watching on a Sony Bravia X900H, the visibility is better, but the dark sky is very pixelated, almost like it's been overly compressed. The TV has HDR and local dimming, and I have the Apple TV set to match framerate and content.
However, when I watch the same scene on the TV's built in Disney+ app, the sky is a smooth gradient and everything looks perfect, with nothing pixelated.
The Apple TV is hardwired to my network, and I have 1.5 Gbps fiber optic internet service. The TV is using WIFI, which still gets a pretty good signal in the area.
Anyone else having the same issue? I prefer the interface of the Apple TV, but the picture quality on the built in app seems better.
EDIT: Had the time wrong, the scene that was noticeably worse on the Apple TV is at 29:26
