Hi

I wanted to start a thread to dispel some common yellow-tint myths that wont die. Many of us have fought this battle for many many years now.

1) The new phones are just warmer than last years. No they aren't They never are. This excuse is given every single year, and never ends up being true. The new phones always get nice bright white screens, with a portion being dingy and yellow.

2) The glue needs to dry. There is no glue. The displays are laminated to the screen. The glue issue happened once, with the iphone 4, and was small spots, not the whole screen. its not glue. It never was glue.

3)This is intentional. They are making the white point more natural. This has been claimed for at least the last 8 years new phones. No it isn't. its a defect.

4) A software update will fix this. No it wont. Its a hardware issue.

If your new iphone has a screen slightly more yellow and less bright then your old one then take. it. back.

Other yellow screen vets please contribute.
