Okay so I was texting my friend, and there was nothing else in my multitasking. Then all of a sudden I receive a text and I watch my display fade away. Since then I haven't been able to see anything. I can, however, see when it's on because the backlight turns on, but none of the display.

So far I have restarted the phone a few times, and I'm attempting a restore right now.

Has this happened to anyone? I don't know if it will work after the restore or if I have to get it replaced.

Thanks!

EDIT: I wan't able to complete the restore because my phone got extremely hot on the right side, and I was too afraid to keep it plugged into the computer.

Take it in, really hot with low backlight says something is wrong.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8H7 Safari/6533.18.5)

Something is really wrong. Genius bar time.

I went to a Verizon Wireless store (because it's closer than the Apple Store) and the guy said something inside the phone shorted out. I don't know why this happened almost four months after using it, but it did. If anyone else knows of any details about this problem please post - I just want to know what happened :)

Oh and I'm getting a replacement. Hooray warranties.
