I am trying to do my own color calibrations with the Display Calibrator Assistant. But I'm having some problem with the instructions.

There is one instruction that repeats itself over and over again: "Move the right slider until the shape is neutral compared to its background."

What exactly am I trying to do here? I don't get it. Can someone verbalize it for me?
