30 days in, opened the lid on my MBP and display is glitched. restarted and happens during apple icon load screen so def hardware related.

So far over 3 hours trying to get an exchange from Apple support and every time we start making progress on an exchange, magically get disconnected. have multiple call back appts from tech support not calling me back, multiple times connecting to chat going in circles.

Super dissapointed in Apple dropping the ball.

Wow, that is super weird. It's just duplicating things in the middle? What does it look like on the Apple bootup logo (I know you said it's affected)?

same on boot up logo, even in recovery mode. wiped and re-installed and no difference. Finally got through with apple and are sending a new one but will be without a laptop for a business trip next week :(

So lucky, said if it happened tomorrow it would be over 30 days and wouldn't be able to exchange it. just repair.

I have a 2024 14" MBP M4 that has a recurring issue: the display/lid is so thin that it flexes under normal use (NO abuse) resulting in the display cracking on the edge, about 3" down from the top corners. I got this computer in December of '24, and had a flex crack develop on the right side on April 25th, causing the display to not work. Apple replaced it under Applecare at a cost of $106.80 to me. This past Friday, July 18th, a small crack, about 3/16" long showed up on the left edge, again with NO evidence of any damage on the edge of the aluminum lid. I'll call Applecare in the morning to have them send a shipping box to repair it. I'm posting here to make a public record and see it others have had similar issues. It seems to me that in Apple's quest to make the laptop computers thinner & sexier, they threw engineering out in favor of thinness, making a lid prone to flexing under normal use. I think I will use some industrial double sided foam tape to fasten a 1/8" thick aluminum plate to the display-lid to give it some needed rigidity and see if I can prevent this from recurring.

🧐 never heard of a “30 day exchange” policy; typically it’s 14 days if purchased directly from Apple.

I hope you get it sorted one way or the other, of course!

Do you normally carry the MBP in a backpack?
