Hello guys,
I am really happy with my 13" MPB Early 2015 with 2.7 GHz i5, 8GB DDR3, Intel Iris Graphics 6100 1536MB.
However, I would like to get a nice display to connect with my MBP. I would use the display for Youtube/Twitch/Office/Study, I do not edit photos/videos. My goal is to have a smooth 4K 60Hz experience.
  • Here, my question is whether my graphics card/processor is actually capable of running such a display, since I am experiencing lags with Chrome when watching 1440p Youtube videos and moderate to high temperature development when watching 1080p60fps youtube videos. Does this get worse when my laptop is connected to a 4K60Hz Monitor?
  • I have read that I would need a MiniDisplayPort to DisplayPort since my my MPB has only HDMI 1.4 but Thunderbolt 2.
  • Which display would you recommend (Budget around 700€, and the display size should be "regular")? I plan to upgrade my MPB with the new redesign in 2020 and to buy the new 11" iPad Pro during this summer, therefore the display should be ready to be used with upgraded hardware. Do I then also need a different cable, e.g. minidisplay port to USB Type C as modern display do not support DisplayPort?
Thank you very much in advance for your help.

Best regards
