I read about a cool trick to quckly see the full file name in finder when the name was too long for the viewing space..

hover over the file and press option, and the full name came up in a little yellow box. saved loadsa time!

Just went to do it then, and its not working anymore!

I can only presume for some reason its been dropped in 10.4.4, cos it worked in 10.4.3

Anyone else noticed this?
 
You mean something like this?

Just hover the pointer over the name for about 3 seconds (nothing pressed)

Yes, only you press option (alt) to speed up the process because you don't have to wait the 3 seconds.

I just tried it and pressing the option key DOES work. I'm using 10.4.4.
