Hello! I recently have replaced my keyboard and it's been giving me the issue of not working properly so I had to replace the keyboard multiple times on my a1278 late 2011 MBP. The last time I did everything, the display stared showing a "spotlight effect" and I recently noticed that my lvds cable was loose so I adjusted it. Still same spotlight effect and I messed with it enough to the point where the tab securing it fell off. I was wondering if the spotlight effect is from a bad lvds connector on the logic board itself or the lvds cable.

I'm hoping it's the lvds cable which would be an easier replacement than finding someone to replace/resolder on a new connection. Can someone please tell me the symptoms of a bad socket and a bad cable. Are they the same? Please help!!! I'm a freaked out college student about to kill himself if the lvds connector is bad and I'm too poor to take it elsewhere other than COLLEGE REPAIRS R US :(
