Well, I know glossy vs matte has been talked about to death so I will simply have to make up my own choice on that. However this topic is based on high-res vs stock displays.

Mainly I will just be surfing, checking email, some photo/video editing and maybe some gaming (SC2, BF3, COD).

Does everyone think I would be OK with the 15in 1440x900 or should I go to the high-res 1680x1050? Or would it just be better for me to get a 17in based on the uses I gave above?

I have had both honestly it won't matter to you. I noticed when editing hi res photos thats about all.

on a side note my current 2011 15'' mbp stock display is failing and apple said they will fix. Can I pay the difference for hi res anti glare??? I also have apple care for 3 years.
