So I recently got a 2013 Mac Pro and it has a weird bug/glitch or whatever it is.
- I bring it to work to a 1080p HP monitor, boots up and displays with no issues.
- I go home and hook it up to my 1440p Asus Swift and I have to boot into recovery mode for it to display, after that, it restarts and boots up fine with the Asus swift and displays every time.
- After I go back to work and hook it up to my work HP monitor its fine and boots up and displays with no issues.
- When I go back home I have to boot up into recovery mode for it to display on my 1440p monitor. Without going into recovery mode, it does boot up, I can hear my bluetooth headphones connect when it gets into desktop.
It seems that after I connect to another monitor, I have to "reset" it for it to display on my Asus Swift.
Lately for the past week, when I go home I just initially start it in recovery mode but it's getting old and takes a while. Is this a glitch that can be fixed? I couldn't find anything when I searched the forums.
Also, its not my display. It displayed perfectly fine when I got the Mac Pro initially. I even had to RMA my monitor for an unrelated issue last week and got a new one from Asus a few days ago. Same behavior.
My guess? It tries to connect to my Asus Swift with the display profile of the HP? I'm not sure if this is how macOS works.
