I have 2 mac minis that are identical that I use for digital signage oriented in Portrait mode (So rotated 90 degrees). I ordered them at the same time. They are Late 2014 models and both are updated to Big Sur 11.2.3. They are also hooked up to the exact same Samsung TV model via HDMI. Mac Mini 1 detects and recognizes the Samsung display and correctly displays my signage. Mac Mini 2 won't recognize the Samsung TV connected to it and won't even give me the option to rotate. What am I missing. I press the Alt Option keys when in System Preferences -> Display and click Detect Display but no go. What else can I do?

This may sound stupid, but is the cable also same?
They are not the exact same. They are the same brand but different lengths. The shorter length is the one that isn't showing properly.

If you swap the cables, will behaving monitor change? I have two cables from the same manufacturer - also different lengths - on two minis and one cable behaves and the other does not. I ended up testing bunch of different cables and convertors until I found two combinations which work. Most of the time. Frustrating.

Thanks, I'll give it a shot.
