I've noticed recently that when my late 2013 retina MBP's display turns off that it takes a very long time to turn back on (30 seconds to a minute or more). It is especially noticeable immediately after the display turns off and I hit a key to turn it back on.
I've also noticed that when I strike a key, the mouse pointer will immediately be visible. I can immediately use the trackpad to toggle between virtual desktops and the display will appear. But as soon as I release from the trackpad after moving to a different desktop the screen will go black again.
The "Turn display off" setting is at 2 minutes when on battery and 10 minutes when on power. This same behavior happens on both battery and power.
Note that when closing the lid and reopening, even if reopening within a few seconds, does not cause this issue.
Any ideas?
