Since Apple doesn't seem to want to make a monitor to support a computer that is just barely a year old I am starting to look for a display elsewhere. I have a Macbook Pro from when they were refreshed in early 2008.

What displays do you recommend in the 22-24" range in the price range of $200-400

Also I will throw this out there, do you think Apple will release any more new monitors with DVI-I to support their older machines or is it all Displayport from here on out.

Dell 2209WA

This is a 22" E-IPS display which is the lowest priced display with IPS.

I second this suggestion on the Dell 2209WA, just set up one for my wife to go along with her MBP (mid 2008) and she loves it. The image for basic computing is as good as my 23" ACD. It is also quite minimalist in design. Great value in my opinion.
