P Pared3s macrumors regular May 14, 2010 119 22 Jun 25, 2012 #4 I found out that you could have it show by going into the Macintosh HD/Library/CoreServices/Menu Extras/Displays.menu The only thing is it doesn't have any options to change the scaling. Hopefully they fix this in ML. EDIT: if you want to remove it. Command click it and drag it off.

Note it is under /System on my Retina MBP with Lion. (I expect this will be restored in Mountain Lion...) For the lazy here is my script to open it, placed in bin directory with chmod 755: ~/bin% cat ./displays-in-menu-bar.sh open "/System/Library/CoreServices/Menu Extras/Displays.menu"
