The surround of the screen on my Macbook pro (15") has cracked on both sides on the lower left and right of the screen. The screen itself is fine and unaffected. The Apple store insisted I have to replace the whole top part, including the display and case, to the tune of $800. It seems to me (the complete unexperienced person that I am) that what is really needed is to just replace the surround/housing that goes in front of and around the LCD. I have the 2.2 GHz (Santa Rosa) MacBook Pro 15 A1226.

Any ideas/suggestions??? Superglue (kidding!!) Can I get the part from somewhere and do it myself?

Thanks
