DisplayPort -> Dual DVI DELAYED?!?!

Did anyone else get an email from Apple that they are going to delay the shipment of the DisplayPort -> Dual DVI adapters until end of December now? This is crazy! They came up with the insane idea to use DisplayPort and now I can't even use my 30" until almost Jan 2009.

Haven't received the email yet, but it's becoming clear that Apple right now has some serious issues with living up to the promises to its customers. Once again, the real question to me though is not why Apple is slacking, but why there is NO competition kicking their ass. I bet you if another company would produce the dual dvi dongle (it can't be that hard!) already, Apple would find a way to deliver earlier.

Same with decent laptops, if there was another company making them (along with decent software to run on it), Apple wouldn't have the quality control issues that these forums are filled with discussing.
