So as we are only about 2 weeks away from the WWDC what do you guys think that we will get in terms of the displays on the new MBPs? Just the same old display tech or a better Lcd display with higher max. brightness and better contrast ratio or the Mini-LED?

Either the same as now, or miniLED.

The display is probably the most unknown factor for the new MacBook Pros. One thing is for sure, no matter what we get, the displays will be excellent.

When it comes to Mini LED I’m thinking we: (A) Get it on both models but with some supply constraints (B) Only get it on the 16” model for this year (C) No Mini LED this year.

If Mini LED is delayed then I definitely hope Apple gives us increased brightness and HDR support. HDR seems to be a tech that Apple is invested in so that could be a good sign. Not to mention, these laptops are geared towards the Pro market where HDR workflows are more common.

From what I’ve seen for the new iPad, mini LED isn’t a super big jump for day to day task. The higher brightness only really comes into play when watching HDR content. In other use cases the Mini LED model was barely better than the 2018/2020 versions. Even if we don’t get mini led, we won’t be missing too much.
