I saw this on /.

Someone dissected an AE base station and behold inside was an AMD processor to run the show. So Apple does use the AMD chips for something - can that put all the rumors about the talks to bed?
 
Excellent article.

I bet it won't stop someone going on about how apple should be using the Athlon64 once it's out though and citing the AMD chip in the base station as proof that they're already using AMD chips so it wouldn't be a problem!

I really think they've been talking with AMD about hypertransport and the wireless related stuff in the AEBS. I'm hoping they use hypertransport on the new 970s - that should allow for more efficiency and less bottlenecks.
