I've been all about the iPhone 17 Air for a while now. Really love the idea of something super light in-hand and in-pocket. Hate the size and weight of my 16 Pro Max.

But the more I think about it, I think the 17 Pro makes way more sense for me. While we don't know the final specs of course, I'm expecting a superior screen on the 17 Pro line this fall (brighter and hopefully anti-reflective). Plus of course stereo speakers (unlike the Air), a better camera, and I'm gonna assume better battery life too.

If the Air was going to have a superior screen and stereo speakers, I would for sure get it. But it feels like too many compromises versus the 17 Pro line.

It's all going to be the same mediocre upgrades until the 20th Anniversary edition which should be the iPhone 19. Probably get the fold version then, if it exists, and a zero port iPhone...

See, that's exactly Apple is trying to do by introducing the Air in the now rumored configuration (large enough with a small battery, simple enough with a single camera/speaker setup) so that people would lean for the Pro and Pro Max.
