I’m not sure demographic information, other than birthdays are captured. So I don’t know how MR will know the demographics of its registered users.

A common source for websites is their social media linkages and analytics, especially if they support “login with Facebook/Google/Twitter/etc.”. Advertising networks, in conjunction with data aggregators, also can provide extensive user data to website owners and operators.

Gross, but true.

Thank you. No sinister thoughts behind the question.
Recent events in the USA forced my cancellation on FB & X and I find some stuff on M.R. a 'little' irritating (so scroll on).
I suppose it is more of my own thin skin as is almost all cases a little thinking on my side usually sorts out whatever 'kneejerk' reactions I may have.
Obviously no intention to annoy or insult or whatever.
It is difficult now not to politicies everything and finding sites of interest without the occasional little political bias is hard for most people.
I've returned to M.R. after a few breaks (mostly health) and find it a good place to land and browse; as I wrote nothing bad intended - Mac, Photography and M.R. fill a lot of my time.
Have a good, peaceful knew year.🐋👍
