This seems like it should be a simple solution, and text boxes don't seem to be the solution I need.

I simply want to take a sheet in Pages, place it in landscape mode, and divide a single page into two (for the purposes of placing the same text on both sides, to make a bulletin-type document).

This seems to be a basic function, but I can't figure out how to do it easily.

I'd appreciate any help on this one.

When I tried that earlier, it gave me a second page. I've fixed it by using text boxes, but I can't get it to divide equally, so it looks a little unbalanced. Now, I need to figure out how to manipulate the full text box to put it where I want it to be.

Why wouldn't clicking on the columns button and choose 2 work?

If you're using a Word Processing Document, this should work. If not, try inserting a layout break before and after your 2-column area.

If you're using a Page Layout Canvas, you'll either need to set up two separate text boxes, or do the above step within a textbox.

As for getting stuff even that's already drawn on the page, use the Metrix inspector to see what the sizes and positions of each are, and adjust from there.
