DivX Web Player keeps crashing Firefox and Safari

Any time I try to run a DivX movie in these programs, it crashes. Also, in Firefox, the player says it cannot connect to the video, or it doesn't exist, even though it most definitely exists.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled. It worked once, but no more.

I've found no useful information on the DivX or Firefox websites.

Does anyone know a solution? It's annoying me senseless.

Uninstall it, and install Perian

I will agree with you that the DivX plugin tends to instantly crash Safari, but I have had no trouble running embedded DivX movies in Firefox. Not sure what the big deal is with Safari

This hasn't worked. It's still broken.

Does anyone have any fixes?
