Divx Web Player not working in SL?

This is what I hate about osx. On windows I could install a codec pack and it works the way it should. I tried installing both the divx web player and divx 7 for mac on my new SL machine, but whenever i go to a website that needs it, nothing happens.

try perian. That is essentially a codec pack for osx. Install that and try running it in quicktime.

I've also installed perian and that also does not work. I'm trying to watch videos from ninjavideo.net but it doesn't seem to be working in SL. I had no issues using leopard.

gotta either wait for them to update the player for 10.6 or somehow download the videos and play in quicktime/perian
