divx/xvid/h264 encoders?

any recommendations for eh..let's call it dvd backup? i tried ffmpegx but it is unable to encode individual episodes. something with IFO support would be nice! handbrake has it, but is a bit stingy with quality options.

What do you mean Handbrake is stingy with quality options? You can set any resolution and bit rate you want.

Things like 'scaling methods' 'ME functions', deblocking, b-frames, etc.. ffmmpegx has these options
