That's lame! There's a lot more to the Bumper than a rubber band wrapped around your phone.

yeah nvm there is alot more to the bumper than just a rubber band.

........like $29 more.

Like metal buttons so the real ones don't become depressed into the phone. Like a plastic, rubber combination that doesn't stick to your pockets. Like an exceptionally made case who's cutouts match up exactly with the speaker holes and headphone jack. Should I go on?

oh please do!

Its cleaver but I prefer the finished look of the Apple bumper. I spent enough on the phone that I want a finished look, not a DIY look.

This will just make your phone stick to your pocket. And no doubt it would come off when taking it out.

ibaloney, you clearly sound like the type of guy who would put a rubber band around his phone and call it a case. What a joke!

I agree 110%...all these guys are being completely asinine.

+1

I actually have one lying around, so I thought I'd pop it on out of curiosity :p

It fits surprisingly well, and doesn't slip of as easily as I thought it would!

I'm not actually going to use it, but I actually liked the look of the white border round my iPhone, so I think it's helped me decide to buy an actual bumper! :D

It does show how the bumper is pretty over priced though, I know it has the buttons etc, but it essentially is just a hardened and moulded rubber band.

*Grudgingly goes to throw more money at Apple*

*Edit*
$25 is not £25 Apple!! I'm going to buy a reasonably priced imitation!!

I was directed to this website: www.bumprs.com, by a guy selling them on eBay - looks dodgy as hell to me!

Well I just bought one, so I'll let you all know if it does (or doesn't!) arrive and if it's decent quality!

You get two (plus a screen protector) for £11 (inc shipping), so I just saved myself about £50 compared to Apple's prices!

I've ordered a pair of bumprs (ooh-err!) as well. Watch this space as the action unfolds!

I don't see anyone stating the fact that the bumper isn't compatible with the A/V cable and a lot of 3rd party charge/sync cables. That makes my bumper absolute junk.

I use my A/V cable for a Line Out when driving; pulling off the bumper every time is getting annoying as hell...and I think my bumper is getting loose. It rattles now.

I'm just waiting for the right case to come along, something that actually protects the camera lenses and has a clear backing for the artwork.

Well, bumprs arrived today, along with the promised screen protector and even a polishing cloth.

The quality of the bumprs isn't quite what I'd hoped for, but for the price I don't think I could really complain. Here's a summary:

The 'black' case is more of a translucent grey.
The white case just has holes where the buttons are, it's not so easy to press the buttons.
The black case indented bits on the case so if fits over the buttons, so they're a little easier to press, but still not great and it greatly reduces the tactile feedback so it's hard to tell when your actually pressing it.
The white case has separate dock and speaker holes at the bottom, the black case just has a big hole for all.
They're pretty flimsy, and I'm certainly not going to do a drop test with them.
I wouldn't say they're a bad fit, but they could fit the iPhone better.
