My boss attempted to fix this issue himself. Its a rather 'shabby' job. But it does work.

Quoting his email:
"I put the clear nail polish on with the small brush that comes with the
product. I put it on a little too heavily and I can clean it off with nail
polish remover, but I think I'll leave it as it is. It's invisible unless you
know exactly where to look."

Attached is his photo of his poor paint job..

So "your boss" used a $2 bottle of nail polish to fix a $600 phone? Cute.

This will fail to work for the same reason the bumpers fail to work.

Its just a matter of time and location.

*It might help tho.

The Google ads seem to track the words posted in the forum and put an ad reflecting the topic. That being said......

.........MONKEY FARTS.

my car is 60,000 new -

i used a 10 cent piece of foam in the rear deck to stop a vibration that the BMW dealer could not fix...

so whats the big deal?

I thought about doing this the other day, but I'm not gonna do it because I shouldn't have to Jimmy rig a 700 dollar phone. BTW, I put a set of latex gloves on and tried replicating the problem, which I had great success at, I'm sorry to say. I don't think the nail polish would fix it. A full case is the only thong I think that would actually fix the issue.

I know it's just a misspelling but that is what the iPhone 4 needs, a thong that hides the crack!

If this truly did help with that problem, then I would totally do it. But I would mask it off a little better so you have nice lines on the polish and it didn't look too DIY. It would just be a shiny corner of the phone. To me, it is what it is... Apple screwed up on this in my opinion, but there are ways around it.

Considering Apple sold a $600-$800 device that doesn't work out of the box, that was pretty good thinking. I'm just going to get a case if mine has the problem, but good ingenuity.

I thought of this a few days ago. I might try it when I actually get my iphone if I have the issue.

Excellent idea. The entire bottom needs to be completely covered for best effect.

This is one of two likely modifications I can think of that Apple will implement.
The other is to replace the back panel with a panel with an antenna in it. The glass should not interfere with the signal. But this second approach is much harder to implement.

I spit a little bit of my food out when I read this. Sex toy dildo. I think it'd be funnier.

What's so funny about a sexy toy dildo? That's a weird thing to say, sexy toy dildo. Why would anyone say sexy toy dildo..... sexy toy dildo.........SEXY TOY DILDO.

.........sexy toy dildo.

thats cool but ill use a bumper or if apple decides to come up with a software update or something. but if all else fails ill try it.

o and let me add fraggleshnaggles aaaaaaahahhhhhhahahahahah
