I have a blown speaker in my 1st gen White MacBook (I believe it's the subwoofer located in the middle of the keyboard). It's long out of warranty and I don't want to pay a repair shop or Apple for labor. I managed to find a set of replacement speakers on ebay for $7 and am planning to do the surgery myself.

Anyone have experience or some resources I can refer to? I've found MacBook disassemble videos, but nothing specific to speaker replacement. I'm pretty comfortable opening electronics and doing minor tasks, but the MB is pretty tightly packed with lots of twisted wires...

Thanks. I just followed the ifixit instructions and they were great. Things are actually less intimidating once you open the case.

A little advice for anyone opening their MacBook - use a magnetized screwdriver. I didn't have one, but if I did the job would have been much easier.
