I'm searching for an internal dl dvd burner for my powermac dual g5. I've been looking at the Plextor PX-740A and the Sony DRU810A, which are actually both Benq DW1640s in different covers. I know that all burners will work with mac os x but what about firmware updates? Everyone who has posted a review for these burners writes "it was a great burner after I updated the firmware." All of the firmware updates are only for Windows. Another issue is, I'm looking at burners with bitsetting/booktyping, but what software can I use that will enable this on a mac? DVDPlusTool is only compatible with like 2 burners. I'm trying to understand DVD burning, which is fairly new to me, so I hope someone can shed some light. Also, are there any other burners you'd recommend?

thanks

NEC ND-3550 does Booktype DVD-R to DVD-ROM, flus has firmware fix to the the same with +R , also this happenbs to be the fastest and most popular burner in the marker.
