Dlc for ipod?

I was just wondering how this worked. I was playing stickbo and decided to get the full game. It didn't go to app store at all. They called it an "In-app purchase"? Does this means that the dlc and/or full version actually already included? This comes down to my real question. They just released a new Nazi Zombies, and i wanted to get the new map. So is there a way to get it free?
