Howdy. I went into system preferences->network (Snow Leopard, 10.6.8) to double check security settings.

There is a second DNS server present.

The settings are grayed out.

When going into /etc (Terminal), and opening resolv.conf, the settings are housed here.

But I am unable to change ownership and write rights for this file, rendering any attempt to remove the second DNS entry impossible.

Is there a third party utility, or other means, to update this file possible?

Thanks!
