I am having an usual issue where internet connectivity drops, web pages do not load, and other things.

When I open the Preferences > Network, select the WiFi connection, and click "Advanced".

On the DNS tab, everytime I view this, it has changed the DNS server to "127.0.0.1".

How do I find what is causing this? Or is there a known likely cause the anyone recognises?

I do use ExpressVPN client from time to time, but not always and this does not seem to be the only thing that causes this problem. For example, I am trying to compile an iOS app in Xcode that calls out to MongoDB, which fails with an error message including "(BIND)" - when I saw this, once again this DNS server setting had changed!

It is unfuriating!
