DNS suffix search list limited to 6

Help,

I have my mac in a fairly large network and need to increase the size of the suffix search list in Snow leopard beyond 6 to allow dns suffix searching on 10 domains. Even though snow leopard does not limit you to 6 entries it will only ever use the first 6. Any help appreciated ?
