I was just wondering: Do 17" MacBook Pros run cooler than 15" MacBook Pros, if they're both spec'd the same way, and running the same tasks? I would think so. Does anybody know? Has anyone tested this?

It's not pressing; I'm just curious.

Thanks.

I don't have an answer, but I would think so.

The 17" has more room, etc. So I guess common logic would tell you "yes."

But there might be some other factors that come into play that I have no knowledge of, so dunno.

Careful, sometimes apple plays games that go without spec changes. IE the original mbp 17" came with a higher clocked GPU than the 15", but the only place you could see this was benchmarks. Also the sound systems were different, etc... really hard question to answer.

According to the tests I have seen so far, the temperature difference is quite negligible.
