I am going to be buying a 2011 iMac soon and will be doing an aftermarket upgrade to 16GB of RAM. When I look at the RAM selector in Crucial, nothing except the Crucial part number changes between the different iMacs, so will RAM bought for any 2011 iMac work any other 2011 iMac?

I just got the same upgrade from Crucial, dude. The RAM type is PC3-10600, if it says that, you're sorted. Their prices are great at the moment.

Awesome. I'm planning to get the 2.7GHz i5 27" model, but might change my mind at get the 2.8GHz i7 21.5" so I want to make sure I don't buy RAM that will be of no use :)
