i'm not entirely sure if IDE drives work in mac so on that basis i would say you need a SATA.... here is one i quickly found,=... are you wanting high spec e.g. more rpm or solid state sorta thing or is it just physical hard disk memory that you want... http://www.amazon.co.uk/Generic-Not...2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1255263286&sr=1-2 anyways thats what i found and its cheaper

What sort of Mac?

All the recent ones, MacBooks, MacBook Pros, iMac, Mac Pro, Intel Mac mini etc. Use SATA drives, 3.5" in the iMac and Mac Pro, 2.5" 9.5mm in the others. Pretty sure the iMac G5 and PowerMac G5 used 3.5" SATA drives as well but don't quote me on that.

Earlier machines, PowerBook G4, iBook G4 etc used PATA drives.

You need to tell the exact model of your computer. There are different kinds of disks.
