I have an iPad Air 2, which I've had since it was released. It works wonderfully for everything I use it for and I would not even think about upgrading it save for one thing: sidecar, it does not support sidecar. I am an academic and my main use for my iPad is as an extra screen for PDF documents (whether its a book, a paper), and as portable pdf reader. Sidecar seems perfect for this sort of thing, so I was thinking about selling my iPad to buy one that supports sidecar. My question is whether all side-car compatible iPads perform the same at side-car, or whether some (I'm thinking of the iPad Air 3) will be a bit laggier than others. If they'll all be the same in this specific respect, I'll probably go for a used iPad Air 3.

(I'm also about to upgrade my 2015 12" Macbook to the M1 MacBook Air, so I'd like to not spend a lot in upgrading the iPad...)
