Do any of the early retina MBPs come with a disc drive?

Nope. The retina MBPs were the first to ditch the Optical drive to make it extra thin with loads of room for battery in the chassis.

The last portable macs with an optical drive were the 2012 non-retina MacBook Pros. You can still buy the 2012 13" MacBook Pro new.

external dvd drives are ~$20. No retina mbp has an internal one though.

Thanks, guys. A family member prefers to use CDs and DVDs. LG/Samsung external drives are sub $20. Nice. Apple, of course, charges $80. lol

You could always remote disc too if you have an older Mac in the house. I have a 2009 cMP that all of my newer Macs can use it's disc drive.
