Just been looking at a review of a new, not out yet, Mobile phone running Android, and was interested to see the phone being put through it's paces by running a range of different benchmark apps.

Some maths ones and some 3D graphics ones.

Like some of us might do on our PC's and Mac's when we get a new one to see how much quicker it is that our old model, or see what new models score so we can decide if we wish to buy a new one.

Then it struck me, I'd never seen any benchmarks running on the iPhone or iPad etc.

I had a look on iTunes, and only saw one 3D Benchmark and an OpenGL thing.

So, got me wondering. Is there a reason no-one has written these same benchmarks you get for Android devices for Apples iOS devices, or don't Apple allow them to be on the iTunes store ?

Write to geekbench and ask them. Never heard of apple forcing iOS only apps, since it would likely have regulatory issues doing so I assume.
