I managed to hunt down one phone for my girlfriend yesterday, now I just need one for myself. But of course apple store employees won't tell you anything about when they get shipments in or how much. Considering I'm on the Next plan I can't reserve the phones online either, which means all I can do is constantly check the website to see if they have one in and then race to the store and hope no one else either reserved it or bought it between the time I viewed and the time I get there.

I'm wondering if there are any former Apple store employees here than can shed some more light.

1. How many times a day do stores get shipments on average?
2. Is it the same on weekends as week days or not as many shipments on weekends?
3. Are there certain typical timeframes these shipments arrive and become available to the public?

As of this morning, all the stores around me are still saying they are completely out.

I find it hard to believe that out of all the stores and all the employees at those stores, both past and present, there is not one person who has leaked some information on the internet anonymously. I mean we get leaks of the phones themselves before Apple even announces them but we have no idea about their inventory methods with even more people being in the loop for that?

They're doing things differently this year so past experiences don't matter.

People with jobs at Apple stores in the United States care about those jobs. Foxconn workers in China don't.

The Apple store at which I purchased my 6+ was out of stock on Friday but the stock was replenished that night/early Saturday morning. I was able to check inventory on the web.

It's difficult to be sure if this is the norm or if it were only done due to the Sixes launching. I suggest checking the web periodically, especially at night, to know when stock has been replenished.

I'm pretty sure they do because the 6 was out of stock late Saturday day night at my local stores (last week) and then ealy Sunday morning I checked the website and they were back in stock again.

Yet anyone can post anything to the internet anonymously so I dont see your point.

They definitely can get shipments on weekends (including new iPhones), but whether a particular store will get more in is completely unknowable. But if you really want a new iPhone I would definitely check on Saturday. You can go to the store, or just online or in the app keep checking order for pickup. If they have phones, you'll see they're available for pickup at the store, and you won't have to wait in line long either.

You really think anything you post on the internet is anonymous? That's quaint.

Anything you post anywhere has your IP logged. I'm quite confident that Apple would pursue information leaks from US employees, and it would be very, very easy for them to track that down.

My local apple store said they get shipments every day except Sunday. They also said they add the phones to inventory right away.

(My opinion)
But, if they get a delivery late in the day, with as busy as they are, they aren't going to be able to unbox the items until after hours. My area apples stores still have people lining up early morning (Yes, 99.9% are Chinese, I was in the line 2 days, and hung out and talked to a group of them. They were really nice, and I recognized them from both times. They were simply buying any phones unlocked at full price, and asked me to pick up an extra is I was trying to get one phone).

yes they do receive shipments everyday but Sunday. But of course we don't know the quantity, only Apple knows.

I was told by a Apple rep (secretly as he put it) upon every iphone release, apple stores gets shipments EVERYDAY for the first three months.

Thats why you need to check out the thread called 1:00 am preorder blah blah. Thats what that thread is all about.
