I know it's not for sale but do Apple Stores generally put the phones on display before release day, or do we have to wait until Friday to see one in person?

I wonder what the logic is with this? Seems like they could generate lots of traffic between now and Friday. Then again, maybe that is the reason.

Apple never advertises products (in-store) that you can't buy yet.

I see. I have to wait for my wife to get her hair done close to an apple store and I was wondering if I should stop by. I guess not. Bummer.

It'd be bad business to show off stuff on display before they launch. On launch day you can expect to see them, along with hundreds of people handling them to demo it out. I'll have to wait a few weeks for the storm to end so I can get one, Best Buy was super packed and didn't want to put money into something that I'd probably never seen for a few weeks. I've had the 4 for over two years now, I can wait a few more weeks.
