Long time Apple user with a whole new problem, kids!
Anyway, my twins are 9, and now on the computers more and more, especially since this last term of school was online. But I'm struggling to sort out parental control and basic computer protections. They are way too old for a "Simple Finder" solution, but the "screen time" settings just don't do enough, and honestly, they have been a nightmare to set, adjust and use. I've been on Apple Computers since I was coding an IIe and I have never felt so frustrated.
I would like to lock out all the myriad of ways they can break their computer, hello moving the User folder??!! There are simply things that Admin and Standard user assignments don't protect you from either. Not to mention time and time again now, I have blocked of various things only to see them casually doing it a week later, having no idea how they did it? (wtf downloading and installing a game without an admin password, how???) How-tos or support videos I can find on parental settings are so basic, that they are a waste of time.
Is there something fundamental I'm missing? Is there a 3rd party I need to be turning too? Are there some tutorials that actually go well beyond the basics?
HELP!!
