Hi, I am using a M1 iPad Pro 12.9". I tried iPad OS 16.1 and it works fine. I am considering to install the latest beta version for external display support. Do these beta versions (currently 16.2 Public Beta) offer the same level of security protection as the officially released ones, in this case 16.1?

No.

Let’s say we’ve got a 0day exploit on iOS x.0. The patch comes fast with the x.0.1 release, but if you are on x.1 beta, you would have to wait until the next beta(or even the next stable release) to get the fix.

Also, beta firmwares contain test codes, and things can break, leading to potential data leak.

Only install beta if you know what you are doing.
