Hello, I know that when new Mac OS is released, some older models are not listed in the compatibility list. Does that mean we cannot install new OS version on these older models? How the software knows? By checking the computer model? Do Hackintosh also suffer from this problem?

Some mentioned that one disadvantage of having Hackintosh is that the users cannot upgrade to the latest OS. I think it is OK as long as the delay is not so long. Even now High Sierra is so buggy that I don't want to install the latest OS on my computer. I guess by the time it is OK to upgrade, a Hackintosh friendly will be out.
