Do I have my facts straight?

I just installed Onyx and it told me to insert my startup disk, but I haven't had that for quite sometime..is there a way to make a copy? Isn't there an internal startup disk as well?

Onyx means the internal Startup Disk, your Macintosh HD, where your Mac OS starts from and probably your user is stored.

There is also a preference pane in System Preferences > Startup Disk.
